The Mission to Seafarers (formerly The Missions to Seamen) is a Christian welfare charity serving merchant crews around the world. It operates through a global Mission 'family' network of chaplains, staff and volunteers and provides practical, emotional and spiritual support through ship visits, drop-in seafarers centres and a range of welfare and emergency support services.

Mission to Seafarers was established in 1856 as a national Society, incorporating the Bristol Channel Mission and the Thames Church Mission.

  • You will offer spiritual, emotional and practical support to seafarers of all backgrounds and nationalities and this new role offers an exciting opportunity to be part of our important and growing work at the port of Southampton.
  • The Chaplaincy Worker will work in partnership with the Port Chaplain to ensure that our mission is accessible and that our service provision is appropriate.
