Volunteer Ranger

Do you love talking to people and have a passion for looking after your local nature reserve? We’re looking to expand our brilliant team of Volunteer Rangers who help to look after our reserves and inspire more people to take action for nature. 

These are varied roles and you can plan your visits at a time to suit you. Being a Volunteer Ranger can involve: 

• Chatting to visitors, answering any questions and making them feel welcome
• Providing information about wildlife and management – and any hidden gems they may not have spotted
• Thanking visitors for behaving in a way that helps nature and asking others to do the same (e.g. keeping dogs on leads/ no BBQs)
• Monitoring and reporting any issues on the reserve
• Litter picking
• Counting / surveying visitors
• You’d be welcome to bring your well-behaved dog on a lead on a patrol.

We’re currently recruiting Volunteer Rangers for: Carbrook Ravine, Crabtree Ponds, Redmires Reservoirs (Yorkshire Water), Greno Woods, Moss Valley Woodlands and Woodhouse Washlands
