Job Requirements/Description

About The Role

Are you passionate about tackling the climate emergency? Do you want to be part of Changeworks – Scotland’s leading environmental charity delivering solutions for low carbon living? We are looking for enthusiastic individuals to join our growing team supporting the delivery of domestic retrofit projects across Scotland.

In newly created roles we are looking for two Household Support Officers who will assist our householders through the retrofit adaption journey to their home. We work with local authorities and housing associations to deliver projects to improve the energy efficiency of homes, reduce carbon and alleviate fuel poverty. The team is currently working with a range of local authorities across Scotland to deliver large scale area-based energy efficiency projects.

From explaining the steps to resolving any complaints, your role will be to work with a range of stakeholders to ensure that the householder receives an excellent service. You’ll have the ability to resolve problems, implement lessons learned as well as working across the team to support our range of projects. Ideally, you’ll have knowledge of the sector, however having an excellent track record in customer service is really core to this role.

Your nearest office will be in Inverness or Edinburgh, and we encourage people to meet with colleagues regularly. We offer flexible working patterns to support your life outside work with part time hours available at a minimum of 21 hours per week.

About Us

Changeworks is a great place to work. We hold Investors in People Platinum accreditation (something only a few organisations in Scotland have), and we were nominated for employer of the year by the Edinburgh Chamber of Commerce this year. Our staff overwhelmingly would recommend us as an employer too.

The Climate Emergency has resulted in ambitious national targets to reduce carbon emissions from the built environment and reduce rates of fuel poverty. This has driven a significant increase in the number of pilot and large-scale interventions delivered by Changeworks and external organisations in this area. These include area-based domestic energy efficiency retrofit and decarbonisation projects and programmes.

We are a growing organisation, and this role is crucial to the delivery of our ambitious objectives. We want to decarbonise homes in Scotland on a massive scale, and that needs talented individuals like you to help us deliver on our objectives. You’ll receive full training plus coaching and mentoring.

We offer a wide range of staff benefits including flexible working, bike to work scheme, an excellent pension scheme and 26 days paid holiday plus 9 public holidays per year.

Salary: £27,594 to £30,280 plus 8% employer pension contribution
