Job Requirements/Description

Are you looking for a chance to earn some extra money in your spare time working flexible hours? Or perhaps you're interested in seeing if a career as a Support Worker is right for you!

You'll join our friendly team of Support Workers at a small, homely residential service in Shrewsbury, where we support 3 ladies who have learning disabilities.

How Relief hours work

It's a bit like a zero-hour contract but without the bad bits.

  • You don't have to work when it's not convenient for you.
  • Receive the same training towards professional qualifications as permanent staff.
  • We offer these contracts not because it suits us but because it suits you.
  • With over 95% of our staff are on permanent contracts you will be supported to apply for one when its right for you.
  • Job security and career development

The Relief (Bank) post supports the permanent rota staff by completing shifts that are vacant due to annual leave, training and other staff absences. As such, hours are non-specific, but your manager will endeavour to balance the needs of the service against your own work/life balance as appropriately as possible.

So what would you be doing?

They lead active lifestyles so sometimes its hard to keep up! Jayde loves going out to the the cinema or go swimming. Where as Rebekah and Amelia have dance classes that they attend every week. Favourite activities include visits to the gym, bowling and go to the sports village.

It's very important that you support them to maintain regular contact with their families. You will help with day to day household duties like cleaning, shopping & cooking and with encouragement Rebekah, Jayde and Amelia will get involved. They do love making their own pizzas with a variety of toppings. (Wouldn't that be fun?!)
