Youth Pastor

Our work with young people has grown into an established youth group with an incredible youth team and we are keen to further resource and expand this area of ministry. In particular, we want to expand our outreach to young people in our local area. In partnership with the Diocese of London, we have the exciting opportunity to recruit a full-time Youth Pastor to pioneer and build a Youth Minster!

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Youth Minster

• Develop a vision and strategy for a Youth Minster based at KXC, which serves the young people of the area and resources local Youth Workers.
• Oversee and run regular Youth nights in collaboration with other local churches; recruiting, building and equipping a volunteer team that facilitates these evenings.
• Regularly gather local Youth Workers and develop a culture of collaboration for youth work across the borough.

Overseeing Youth at KXC

• Provide oversight and leadership of the Youth Ministry at KXC for young people aged between 11-18.
• Alongside the Youth Worker, plan and lead weekly Sunday and midweek sessions, and termly socials. Oversee Youth at church-wide events including Weekend Away, Leaders’ Weekend and Wildfires, as well as leading and assisting in facilitating other youth-specific events, such as the

Youth Weekend Away and external Youth conferences.

• Identify, recruit, equip and develop the Youth team leaders and volunteers. Provide oversight and pastoral care for the Youth team. Ensure the KXC safeguarding policy regarding young people is being enforced.
• Line management of Youth Worker and Youth Apprentice Outreach
• Expand and develop Youth outreach, particularly focusing on local estates. This will include building and developing relationships with existing local organisations and developing a pathway between outreach and KXC events.

Additional Support as Required

• Participating in the life of the Staff Team including participating in staff meetings, days away and staff retreats. Staff are also asked to provide occasional support in managing other KXC events where required.
