Family Link Worker – Caritas St Joseph’s

£34,489 per annum

What you’ll be doing

Based out of Caritas St Joseph’s Pastoral Centre, the Family Link Worker will be vital in the work being done with the families to support them in all areas of their lives. This role requires the candidate to organise, enable and train invaluable volunteers, who are providing sacramental preparation for children and adults with intellectual disabilities. The candidate will work with existing networks and provide a bridge between the Centre and outreach.

You will be responsible for assisting in the preparation and organisation of various types of liturgy to meet the needs of the families and communities you are working with. Additionally, you will actively participate in supervision and training sessions, as well as working in accordance with St Joseph’s Pastoral Centre’s Health and Safety policies, confidentially policy, in line with safeguarding vulnerable adults and children’s’ procedures.

What we’re looking for

The successful candidate will be encouraged to develop, provide and support social advocacy to achieve equality and participation in society for those people with intellectual and physical disabilities. They will supervise and provide training sessions. The candidate will also organize and train volunteers to provide sacramental preparation for children and adults with intellectual disabilities.

Knowledge and experience of working with adults with learning difficulties is desirable. Some travel will be necessary and requires a clean, full driving licence and candidate must own car.
