Full Time
Contract

Historic Royal Palaces is the independent charity that looks after the Tower of London, Hampton Court Palace, Kensington Palace, the Banqueting House, Kew Palace and Hillsborough Castle & Gardens.
We are a team of people who love and look after six of the most wonderful palaces in the world: the Tower of London, Hampton Court Palace, Kensington Palace, the Banqueting House, Kew Palace and Hillsborough Castle, Northern Ireland.
Each of these six Historic Royal Palaces has a captivating story to tell. As a Digital Producer (Video Content), you will support Historic Royal Palaces' ambition to reach and engage a broader audience, both nationally and internationally, with compelling digital content that brings our palaces' stories to life and showcases the vital work our charity does in caring for them.
In this role, you will lead the research, development, commissioning, and production of high-quality video content and manage the Historic Royal Palaces' YouTube channel, aiming to enhance the reach and engagement of our content.
You will be a member of the Digital Engagement department within the Public Engagement directorate, working alongside a dynamic and dedicated team of digital professionals. Together, the team produces and manages a wide range of products, projects, and content, across multiple digital platforms.
We are looking for an experienced Producer with at least five years of professional experience in video and/or TV production, who can bring commissioning expertise, fresh ideas, and production skills to this high-performing team.
From researching the intriguing history of the palaces and shaping concepts for new content series to commissioning production companies and managing film shoots on location at our historic sites, there will be ample opportunities to apply your expertise in this crucial area of our work.
To succeed in this role, you should be a seasoned Producer with confidence in researching topics using diverse sources, including publications, image libraries, archives, and subject matter experts. Your passion for public history and creative spark will enable you to transform your research into engaging video series that will captivate our audiences.
Your commissioning and production skills are particularly important to us. You should demonstrate experience in commissioning a variety of factual formats that engage audiences in innovative ways, as well as possess the production management knowledge necessary to oversee film productions from research to delivery.
A solid understanding of YouTube and how to engage audiences through the platform is essential. As the manager of the Historic Royal Palaces YouTube channel, you will devise and co-ordinate a content release schedule in collaboration with other teams from across the charity, including Marketing, Social Media and PR. Your expertise in maximising audience reach and engagement through SEO best practices will be key to this role.
While this position does not specifically require self-shooting and editing skills, candidates with those additional skills are encouraged to apply.
If you are a team player who thrives in a collaborative and fast-paced environment, we would love to hear from you. An interest in British history is a bonus.
