The Drug and Alcohol Outreach Service works alongside the Adult Community Service and the Young People’s Service to ensure that an accessible treatment offer is available to those who find themselves rough sleeping or in insecure accommodation. The Drug and Alcohol Outreach Service is countywide and promotes an holistic multi-agency response to the needs of the individual. In addition to the Rough Sleeper Drug and Alcohol Service, we have a Hospital Outreach Team and a Housing In-Reach Team that support complex individuals. We are looking to recruit Outreach Workers who will be trained in each area and will provide support to the teams, depending on where the need is greatest.
As Outreach Worker you will be meeting people in their space more often than in an office, therefore you must have a current driving licence with access to a vehicle.
This role will be working on a new project alongside other services providing outreach support to clients around Cornwall with drug and alcohol issues who are struggling to maintain their housing.
We are looking for a resilient and committed individual who has an understanding of the problems faced by individuals finding themselves homeless or in insecure accommodation and who enjoys a challenge. Experience of substance misuse would be beneficial though we will provide training.
Above all, we are looking for someone who is passionate about what we do, and with a positive and engaging approach to our service users and staff.
The post holder will be required to work 37.5 hours per week with occasional weekend work. A full UK driving license is required.
